Frequently Asked Questions

Is this race beginner friendly?
Yes! The race is completely flat and the volunteers are super friendly! Swimming in the bay makes it easier on folks new to swimming. If you're not yet comfortable swimming open water, we will have swim buddies available to swim with you. The bike and run are both pancake flat (the biggest hill is a speed bump).  Come out and join us for your first triathlon!
Is the park pet friendly?
The park allows pets until 9am, after that pets are prohibited. Service animals are always welcome!
Where can I park?
There are plenty of parking lots along Mission Bay Drive. Check out our "Getting Here" section for more information!
Can I pick up my packet on race morning?
Yes, you can. Though we encourage all racers to pick up their packets at the race expo on Friday or Saturday. Look at our schedule for more information!
Do you offer any discounts?
Professional triathletes receive a free entry for our draft-legal race. Additionally, members of the Triathlon Club of San Diego (TCSD), as well as military service members, receive discounted race entries for both our draft-legal and classic races. Please email to receive your discount code.
I forgot to register online, can I still sign up?

Yes, you can register for our classic race at our expo at Moment Bicycles in Liberty Station on Friday from 11am-7pm or Saturday from 12pm-5pm. Note that we will charge a $20 late fee for in-person registration. We do not offer any race-day registration on Sunday.
What if it rains?
Tritonman will be held rain or shine. We are working with our lifeguards to determine a way to proceed with the swim regardless of if it rains, so stay tuned and cross your fingers for some dry weather!
Can I get a refund or transfer my registration to another athlete?
Yes! We honor refunds until January 30, 2019 at 5pm. We will honor transfers until February 10, 2019 at 5pm.
